As if I didn't love the Philippe Starck Ghost Chair enough, it's now available in kiddo sizes!

The Kartell Lou Lou Ghost Armchair maybe have been designed for mini humans, I think my two chihuahuas would look just perfect resting their paws in them!

As mentioned in my previous post, I'm working on a black and white design project. In my quest for the perfect wallpaper, I stumbled upon these two stunners:
The first is the Cole & Son's Wooded Wallpaper, available at Rose & Radish. This little beauty has been popping up everywhere lately, included the designer's house in Season 2 of Top Design. It's striking and quirky without being too bold or brash. The stippling technique creates an almost antiquated feel, while the stark black on white keeps it fresh and modern. The second is the Blackbird paper by Cavern. Available in several colors, each divine. Two of my very favorite things, trees and birds...in the same paper...heavenly! It's so crisp and clean and almost abstract from afar. I'm loving that wallpaper is making such a strong comeback in interior design. Either of these papers, used even sparingly on just one wall could transform an average room into a delicious and decadent space.

I'm in the process of desiging a basement. The bedroom and living area will be pure black and white with yellow accents. I'll post before and after pictures when the project is completed. I've purchased most of the items for the rooms, but one this is missing...these pillows!!! The yellow and white lattice is pure perfection and would tie the rooms together brilliantly. Oh how I covet this fabric...

I found the next picture after I began the project, and it is remarkably similar to the style and vibe that I am trying to capture. This room was featured in Architectural Digest, and is stunning. I can only hope to achieve a similar result. And of course...they are using the same lattice fabric!

These Log Bowls by Loyal Loot are fantastico! These bowls are handmade and using only locally reclaimed treese. They come in a variety of woods and a vast arrray of colors. I'll take one of each please!

"Headboard"

I'm totally digging this "headboard"! A modern take on the traditional bedframe. What a great, and inexpensive alternative! And perfect as a DIY project. This would be ideal for a guest room, or any room where space is an issue. Though I'd recommend more pillows to cover the space between the bed and the bottom of the painting, to help enhance the illusion a bit.

As you may begin to notice, I have a bit of a crush on anything black and white. And this flooring is no exception. This Zebra hardwood by Preverco is striking. The red oak, wire scrapped planks are sophisticated and a bit daring. As mentioned in a previous post, I'm about to install wood laminate flooring....oh how I wish I could afford this instead! Maybe the Preverco gods will smile upon me and send me a plank! (After all, it is "Talk Like A Pirate" day!)

IKEA is opening up it's first store in Colorado! Eeek!

Some design snobs may look down upon the Swedish retail chain, but for those of us who can't spend $8,000 on a floating bed, IKEA is a fantastic gateway into the design world.

Just the lettered pillows alone are so fun! Imagine them in a guest room as an alternative to traditional monogrammed pillows.

This bathroom is exquisite. The pale green tiles are soft and calming and contrast beautifully with the black and white room beyond. I love the (hopefully faux!) fur rug as a bath mat...how decadent! And is that a Le Klint pendant fixture? Loves it!

This is the first time I've seen this done, and I love it! What a smashing idea! I'm getting ready to install wood laminate flooring in a stairwell. Just today I was debating how I would get the laminate to work on the "rise" portion of the stairs. I think I've found my solution! I'll wallpaper them in some fabulous pattern instead!

I'm loving this "wood" table. Made from recycled plastic, this white molded tree trunk could be used as an end table or a footrest.
And check out that rug! A sunny splash to brighten any room!

Animal prints are risky. Too much can turn your room from classy to tacky. But just a touch can be a cheeky wink in an otherwise formal space. Like this Zebra print chair. Image what an unexpected surprise this would be in a stately office or entry way.

The first time I laid eyes on a Phillippe Starck Louis XV Ghost armchair...I fell in love. As a 20 year old living in LA, fashion, art and glamour surrounded me. But my passion for design all began with that chair.

8 years later, I am still mesmerized by the juxtaposition of classic lines and modern finishing. Perfection!
