His & Hers

Even if you are having a traditional wedding, not everything surrounding the wedding has to be traditional.
Add some of your own personal touches that make it dazzle!
My fiance and I got matching "His & Hers" tattoos as an early wedding gift to one another.
Bold? YES....but so is love!
We designed them ourselves, and they turned out so beautifully thanks to Guapo and Piotr at God Speed Ink.
Seriously talented guys at a really nice shop in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Stamps!

Even our stamps are in love! Heehee! While designing our invites & envelopes...I hadn't really thought about stamps....luckily, my fiance picked out THE PERFECT stamps! Red and swirly and luvy!

Our Wedding Invitation

Fini! I finally finished our wedding invitations...I think....

Likey?

Also...

Another daily reminder....

Slow down. Take a moment to think about your reaction. You can't change the way other people act. You can only change the way you react to them. Take the high road. Be positive. Karma, karma, karma.

Awarenss

Sometimes in the midst of wedding planning, we become so consumed by OURSELVES.
Everything is about ME and what I want for MY wedding....we often forget that the rest of the world continues to spin, regardless of our pending nuptials.
This morning I am attempting to be aware and present. Sent my intentions.
Choose to put happiness, kindness and joyfulness out into the world.
I made this little poster to remind myself that the world is 10% action, 90% reaction....I get what I give.....

Lighting

Lighting is amazing. It can instantly transform a space and set a mood. Bright and cheery, dark and sexy. Whatever look you're trying to achieve, lighting plays a huge role, whether you realize it or not. For our Colorado wedding, the party will start in the afternoon and go into the night. As the sun begins to go down, I'd love to have TONS of lights everywhere....strings of lights, jar lamps hanging from trees, chandeliers, paper lanterns, candles, candelabras...I love them all!

Glamorous Gift!

What a fun wedding gift for your groom! Gorgeous and sexy images of his future bride. Capture your glowing engagement bliss on film with a Boudoir photo shoot!

It's also a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera. You'll be the focus of a ton of images at your wedding, and a boudoir shoot is a great way to get comfortable posing and taking direction and getting comfortable working with a photographer.

Seating

For our stateside wedding, we're having a very small and casual gathering at my parent's house in Evergreen, Colorado. I've got the overall design planned out in my head....black and white with red accents...chandeliers, blackbirds, vintage personal touches....lots and lots of lights...but I hadn't really thought about seating. For food, we are making it ourselves! My family will cook everything the day before the wedding or the morning of, and we'll just have chaffing dishes and things set out for people to serve themselves, buffet style. Since we aren't having it catered, we aren't having servers or anything. It's so generous of my parents to host the party, and the last thing I want is for them to be doing any serving during the party. So casual, casual, casual food set up. But....where do people sit? Do I still need to have big long tables with chairs? This set up is so lovely....

But that means renting tables and chairs...and I'm not even sure the back yard is level enough to set up a bunch of tables! Oye....what to do, what to do...

Monogram Windows

I adore monograms. They're so classic and beautiful. I've been carting around a stack of vintage windows for years! I love them so much but just haven't been able to find the right use for them....until now!

I'll use three of them to create our monogram. It would make a great backdrop for a dessert table or bar area. Then after the wedding, I'll hang them in our bedroom as a headboard! A great way to have a reminder of our special day.

WOWIE!

What an amazingly simple yet DRAMATIC idea....use a parachute to cover the ceiling, add some lights behind it to add a little dazzle....the result....magical!

Think outside the Tiffany box...

Who says you have to go with traditional jewelry??? Rather than having the same ring everyone else does...why not think outside of the Tiffany box a bit? Find a gem or precious stone that suits your taste and have it mounted. I ADORE this Dara Ettinger Halo Druzy Quartz ring I found on Charm and Chain...

Shoes!

Ohhhh shoes, how I adore you! You can make an outfit go from drab to fab! For a destination wedding, I probably won't even be wearing shoes....but for the stateside wedding....the shoes have to make a statement! I'd love to go with something a little more punk rock...and no one does punk rock shoes quite like Iron Fist! A little edgy, a little funky and a whole lotta attitude! Iron Fist shoes are popping up all over the place in bridal shoots...

I also sort of love the idea of going over-the-top glam shoes....like these gorgeous Patricia Field Rhinestone Dream Shoes....
The Barbie pink is perfection! Though it wouldn't match my red / white / black color theme....so I'll gladly take the white or black. Please and thank you...Or I suppose these would do....

I'm tossing around the idea of bedazzling my own shoes! Finding a great pair of platforms that FIT well...and going crazy with rhinestones and super glue! It'd be really cute to add in the wedding date, or husbands name to make them really special and a remembrance of my wedding day every time I wear them.

Umbrella-ella-ella Yay Yay!

I love umbrellas. They are so whimsical and fun and living in Colorado, where it barely rains, getting to use one is a treat! Umbrellas aren't just practical though...they can be beautiful and elegant, and would be such a fun and unexpected way to dazzle a wedding! You could have your bridesmaids carry matching umbrellas...

Or better yet...use them to decorate! How brilliant is this??? Simply hung upside down, they create an instant canopy. So dramatic and fun!

Don't quiet have an "umbrella budget" in your plans? This site offers rentals! Bella Umbrella! There are so many to colors and styles to choose from! The "Pagoda" style is definitely my favorite. And the contrasting black and white is so graphic and bold.

And I adore this red ruffled number! It's so cheeky...it reminds me of ruffled bloomers!
