Daydreaming....

I find myself daydreaming more and more about Puerto Vallarta...

So beautiful!

Destination Locations....

After realizing a destination wedding was more our style, now we need to decide on a location...Trip Advisor has a great search feature that allows you to search destinations based on your interests:

I chose "Beaches & Sun" and "Mexico, Central & South America."
The result was a great overview of 17 different beach areas with a quick blurb on what each area had to offer. I'd suggest this as a great starting point for planning your wedding. It helps you quickly sort out what may or may not work for your special day. The top three results on my query were Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Vallarta. I've been to Canun and Playa, and while they are both lovely places, they are a bit too touristy and busy for the quiet wedding I have in mind. My fiance has been to Puerto Vallarta and adores it, so we'll look more into PV, along with some others on the list.

New Fairy tale...

As a little girl, I always dreamed of a HUGE wedding....a church with white roses everywhere, a GIGANTIC ballgown, 12 bridesmaids, flower girls, elaborate decorations, formal dinner, champagne fountains....I had it all planned out...

Then something happened....I grew up....
I realized the little girl fantasy just didn't fit who I am as a woman. I had all the details planned out in my mind...except one key ingredient...the husband. I was so wrapped up in the event itself that I didn't bother to even think about the very reason for the day....the union with the man of your dreams.
Falling in love made me realize what I really want....an intimate moment with my future husband. A ceremony that allows us to express our love and make a commitment to one another. The rest of the details suddenly became far less important. I realized I wanted to escape with my fiance and go somewhere that would allow us to have a quiet moment to ourselves.....it dawned on me....I want a destination wedding.
